The City of Jasper

Jasper is simply one of those towns that, when you visit, you feel like you’ve set foot onto the set of some movie or T.V. series. It is a quaint little town in the middle of the Ozark Mountains. Every direction you look, you see nature’s beauty all around. Jasper is home of the first National River in the United States of America. The Buffalo River flows right through the heart of this scenic little town.

Everywhere you go in this town, you’re sure to meet great outdoor adventures. The hiking trails are plentiful, the canoeing and floating are abundant, and there are endless caves to explore. It is not unusual to find groups that visit Jasper just for world-renowned rock climbing and mountain biking. Horseback riding is one of the local favorites because of all of the riding trails etched throughout the mountainsides.

One of the unique things about Jasper, Arkansas, is that it is the Elk Capital of Arkansas! On any given day, you can see one of the 450 elk roaming about the edge of the Buffalo River and along Steel Creek. You can find photographers from around the country staking out alongside the windy roads just waiting to capture that perfect shot of the great Elk.

Some of the nearby towns include Harrison, which is only 20 miles from Jasper, and the beautiful Branson, Missouri, which is 60 miles away. Many guests have traveled to Branson one day out of their stay and returned to the quaint cabin to relax in the evening.
